LEGISLATIVE PROSPECTS IN SCOTLAND TO 2007 (TERCENTENARY OF THE UNION)
The First Minister, Jack McConnell, announced the Scottish Ministers’ legislative programme for the remainder of this Scottish Parliament session (that is, to spring 2007) on 6 September 2005. Amongst the 19 prospective Bills, the ones that interested Scots Law News were those on judicial appointments and removals (which should see a statutory statement of judicial independence in Scotland along with a long overdue statutory footing for the Judicial Appointments Board – but that removals” bit will have to be watched
