ASBESTOS COMPENSATION AND CAUSATION

The problems caused by the decision of the House of Lords in Barker v Corus [2006] UKHL 20 (see No 555) appeared to be on their way to a legislative solution following an announcement rejigging the Scottish Ministers’ legislative programme on 22 June 2006. Margaret Curran, the Minister for Parliamentary Business, told the Scottish Parliament:

Members on all sides will have been moved by the plight of those suffering from asbestos-related disease and their families
