A thought for Naked Rambler Steve Gough as Christmas approaches. He is currently serving a three-month sentence for contempt of court, having refused to dress for a court appearance before Sheriff Kathryn Mackie on 30 November 2007 to be sentenced, after the ruling by the High Court of Justiciary that nudity in court is indeed contempt (see No 697). Sheriff Kenneth McIver had convicted Mr Gough of breach of the peace by way of a brief naked perambulation (apparently about five steps' worth) on the pavement outside St Leonard's police station in E
