SHERIDANS CASE

On 27 March 2008 Tommy and Gail Sheridan made separate and private appearances in Edinburgh Sheriff Court charged with perjury (see previously No 743).  Neither made any plea or declaration and each was released on bail.  On 31 March Talk 107, the radio station on which Mr Sheridan had a weekly show, announced that his contract would not be renewed, saying that changes had been made at the station and Tommy did not fit the new brief”.  Mr Sheridan compared himself to other workers on short-term contracts “with no rights courtesy of a so-called Labour government”.
