(647)  LAW SOCIETY EDUCATION AND TRAINING REVIEW

On 28 May 2007 the Law Society of Scotland announced the first outcomes of its review of legal education and training in Scotland.  In the future, the ‘route’ to qualification might not be an LLB, a Diploma, and then a traineeship.  While the majority of students may well continue to follow such a path, some may follow different routes, including elements from commercial providers”.  More emphasis on a comparative dimension is thought to be desirable in the teaching and assessment of law.  There should also be a more focused core to study (i.e. less individual compulsory subjects)
