(586) WELSH DEVOLUTION MOVES ONWARDS AND UPWARDS
A new Government of Wales Act was passed by the Westminster Parliament and received Royal Assent on 25 July 2006. The Act confers law-making powers on the Welsh Assembly, with the laws to be known as Assembly Measures” and able to do anything which could be done by an Act of Parliament subject to limits on legislative competence spelled out elsewhere in the Act. So the 1998 devolution settlement is not made of stone
