(470)  DUCK! GUARDIAN MEASURES FOR UNIVERSITIES REVEALED

Some insight has been obtained into The Guardian newspaper’s rather surprising assessment of the relative standing of university law schools (see No 465), as the result of a story published in the paper on 6 June 2005 (see http://education.guardian.co.uk/higher/news/story/0,9830,1500125,00.html, brought to the attention of Scots Law News courtesy of the Tom Morton show on BBC Scotland).  The paper reveals that the duck density” of Britain’s universities is causing some concern in a story headed “Quest for high degrees – of ducks”.  It appears that York is by some distance Britain’s leading university on the duck density measure
