Looking back at our New Year message twelve months ago (No 621), Scots Law News is tempted to say plus ça change mais c’est la même chose. Many of our questions have been answered – we know what happened to Charlie the cockerel and the whereabouts of the Naked Rambler – but the answers are not always the end of the story – Tommy Sheridan has been charged with perjury, the SNP has formed a minority Scottish Government, the Scottish legal profession is heading for changes currently labeled Alternative Business Structures” or ABS (an abbreviation we had always hitherto thought meant advanced braking – or should that be breaking? – systems). What will happen next? More will be heard on all of these in the year ahead (except perhaps Charlie)
